Combining a sporty style with great elegance, this model boasts a dial with vibrant blue sunburst shades. Available with a choice of straps ranging from ceramic to NATO to sailcloth, the new Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de lune brings strength, color, and dynamism to the Bathyscaphe line.
The presence of a high-tech ceramic bracelet, a first for Blancpain, enhances its sporty and versatile spirit. As with almost all of the materials used at Blancpain, the ceramic is produced locally in Switzerland in an effort to minimize the emissions produced during the manufacturing process. Durable, highly scratch-resistant and hypoallergenic, this ceramic material is nearly five times harder than stainless steel – and almost four times harder than grade 5 titanium – while being 25% lighter.
Because of its extraordinary qualities, it requires an extremely complex manufactory process, especially in terms of finishing. A nearly 25% volume reduction must be taken into account when firing the material above 1400°C and machining with diamond tools (thanks to the superior hardness of diamond). The satin finish is a key aesthetic element of the Bathyscaphe line and the result of a delicate and meticulously crafted process. The links, buckles and cases are all individually hand-finished by in-house experts.
