Cartier 2025: Timepieces of Transformation and Artistry
By Watches of Switzerland, Experts in Time
Cartier has once again demonstrated its unparalleled mastery of horological artistry with its 2025 collection. As an Official Cartier Retailer across our Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, and Canberra boutiques, Watches of Switzerland is delighted to present these exceptional new creations that embody the Maison’s philosophy of transformative design.
The Alchemy of Cartier
For over a century, Cartier has practiced a unique form of alchemy in watchmaking – the ability to transmute precious materials into creations that stir the soul. The 2025 collection exemplifies this philosophy through what Louis Ferla, President and CEO of Cartier SA, describes as “the art of metamorphosis.” Like master magicians, Cartier’s artisans defy conventional perceptions of time itself, crafting watches that are simultaneously timekeeping instruments and masterpieces of artistic expression.
Tank Louis Cartier: An Icon Amplified

The Evolution of a Legend
The Tank Louis Cartier represents one of the most important evolutionary steps in Cartier’s watchmaking history. Born in 1922, just five years after the original Tank Normale, this refined interpretation featured an elongated case, more sophisticated brancards, softened angles, and an embrace of pure rectangular form. Now, for 2025, Cartier has reimagined this icon with unprecedented technical sophistication while preserving its unmistakable DNA.

Technical Sophistication Within Classical Proportions
The 2025 Tank Louis Cartier introduces a larger case format (38.1mm x 27.75mm) powered by the sophisticated 1899 MC automatic movement. This represents a significant technical achievement – integrating a modern self-winding caliber while maintaining the Tank’s classical proportions and elegant 8.18mm thickness. The movement’s integration demanded meticulous engineering to preserve the watch’s distinctive rectangular architecture.
Exquisite Aesthetic Details
Available in yellow and rose gold variants, each watch features a beautifully executed flinqué dial – a surface decoration technique involving intricate engine-turned patterns that create subtle light play across the face. The dials are complemented by Cartier’s signature blued-steel sword-shaped hands, a hallmark of the maison’s attention to detail.
The railway track minute markers encircle Roman numerals of perfect proportions, while the beaded winding crown is set with either a sapphire (for the rose gold model) or ruby cabochon (for the yellow gold version). Each model comes fitted with a semi-matte alligator leather strap – grey for the yellow gold and brown for the rose gold – that complements the warm tones of the case.
Cartier Privé Tank à Guichets: Reading Time Differently

A Revolutionary Design Reimagined
The Tank à Guichets first emerged in 1928 during an era of rapid modernization. As trains and automobiles transformed daily life, Cartier responded with a watch designed for this new pace – one that could be read at a glance through digital apertures rather than traditional hands. This revolutionary approach represented one of Cartier’s first true complications, embodying both technical innovation and design vision.

The 9755 MC Movement: Technical Brilliance
For the 2025 revival, Cartier has developed the hand-wound 9755 MC caliber specifically for the Tank à Guichets. This sophisticated movement incorporates jumping hours and dragging minutes displayed through two apertures. This complex mechanism required extensive development to ensure precise jumping of the hour disc at exactly 60 minutes while maintaining a 38-hour power reserve. Available in platinum, yellow gold, and rose gold, it features a satin-finished case that contrasts beautifully with polished horizontal brancards. A limited-edition platinum version introduces angled apertures, paying homage to the creative explorations of the 1930s.

Tressage: A Watchmaking Sculpture
Perhaps the most daring of Cartier’s 2025 releases, the Tressage watch represents true watchmaking sculpture. Following in the creative footsteps of the Maillon, Coussin, and Reflection watches, this bold creation features intertwining twists of gold and diamonds surrounding a rectangular diamond-paved dial.

The Tressage plays with contrasts – smooth gold alternates with pavé diamonds on one side, while bold vertical brancards provide sharp lines on the other. Several variants include a striking yellow gold model with smooth gadroons contrasting against a black dial, and spectacular diamond-set versions with gradients of sapphires.
Panthère: The Feline Icon in Two Magnificent Expressions

Panthère Jewellery Watch: A Hybrid Masterpiece
Architectural Brilliance
This extraordinary creation bridges the worlds of haute joaillerie and fine watchmaking. The distinctive “Toi & Moi” design features a three-dimensional panther poised to pounce on one side, with a delicate watch on the other. This architectural tour de force required over 230 hours of meticulous jewellery-making, polishing, and stone-setting.

Two Spectacular Versions
Yellow Gold: Features a sculptural panther with tsavorite eyes, onyx nose, and black lacquer spots that create lifelike depth and dimension. The watch element includes a black lacquered dial encircled by a bezel set with 23 brilliant-cut diamonds (0.78 carats). Every detail is considered – from the musculature and posture of the feline to the delicate paw pads visible underneath.
White Gold: This spectacular version showcases 1,103 brilliant-cut diamonds (11.90 carats) across the entire creation. The panther features emerald eyes with onyx nose and spots, with the Maison’s signature “fur-setting” technique that creates tiny metal threads resembling hair. The varying diamond setting techniques create astonishing texture effects that mimic the natural movement of light across fur.
Both models employ a precise quartz movement and offer water resistance to 30 meters, with multiple wrist size options (150/160/170mm) for perfect comfort.

Panthère de Cartier Watch: Jewelled Transformation
Animal Inspiration
For 2025, Cartier reimagines its classic Panthère de Cartier with an abstract animal-inspired motif that combines elements of both zebra and tiger patterns. This creative transformation required extensive experimentation with materials and techniques to achieve the perfect balance of graphic impact and wearability.

Exceptional Craftsmanship
The most spectacular version features a case and bracelet set with 398 brilliant-cut diamonds (3.36 carats) and vibrant spessartite garnets. The two different shades of hand-applied lacquer – black and golden-brown – required painstaking work at the Maison des Métiers d’Art, with multiple high-temperature firings to achieve the perfect finish. The rose gold dial is snow-set with 145 brilliant-cut diamonds (0.38 carats) and accented with black lacquer, complemented by steel sword-shaped hands with a rose gold finish.

Semi-Paved Variations
The collection also includes several semi-paved versions in different sizes (25mm x 20mm, 30.3mm x 22mm, and 36.5mm x 26.7mm) in both rose and yellow gold. These models feature diamonds delicately arranged in a gradient pattern across the bracelet links, creating a shimmering effect that flows across the entire watch. The silver dials with blued-steel sword-shaped hands provide a beautiful contrast to the warm tones of the gold and the brilliance of the diamonds.
All Panthère models feature Cartier’s signature octagonal crown with a sapphire or faceted blue spinel cabochon, and offer water resistance to 30 meters.
