Historic Milestone: Vacheron Constantin Celebrates 270 Years with Exclusive 2025 Collection
Watches of Switzerland proudly presents the Maison’s 270th anniversary collection of limited edition timepieces for 2025 – a rare opportunity for collectors to own a piece of horological history.
In the world of haute horlogerie, few names command as much respect as Vacheron Constantin. As the world’s oldest watch manufacturer in continuous operation since 1755, the Geneva-based Maison has marked its remarkable 270-year journey with a 2025 collection that distills centuries of watchmaking excellence into eight limited edition timepieces across its Traditionnelle and Patrimony collections.
These exceptional watches, unveiled in April 2025, offer collectors a unique opportunity to celebrate this historic milestone with one of watchmaking’s most prestigious names.

A Signature of Excellence: The 270th Anniversary Aesthetic for 2025
What makes these 2025 anniversary editions truly special is the distinctive aesthetic signature created specifically for this milestone. Each timepiece features a subtle geometric motif on the dial inspired by the Maltese Cross – Vacheron Constantin’s emblem since 1880. This symbol, which originally represented a component in vintage watch movements that ensured consistent power flow to the mainspring, now elegantly expresses the Maison’s unwavering commitment to precision.
The motif creates captivating light effects as it catches the light with each movement of the wrist. On silver-toned dials, it adds contemporary sophistication, while on mother-of-pearl surfaces, it creates a mesmerizing interplay of iridescence and texture.
Turn any of these 2025 watches over, and you’ll discover another remarkable feature through the sapphire caseback – the ‘côte unique’ finish on the movement bridges. This refined decoration appears deceptively simple but requires exceptional skill to execute. The technique creates the impression of unbroken lines flowing from one bridge to another, requiring precise adjustment of the artisan’s gestures for each individual calibre.
This distinctive finishing was used by Vacheron Constantin more than a century ago but was rediscovered only in 2021 while reproducing the Historiques American 1921 watch. It took the Maison’s artisans over 500 hours to perfect this lost craft, making it a fitting tribute to the brand’s dedication to preserving traditional savoir-faire for the 2025 anniversary collection.
Completing the anniversary signature, each movement is discreetly engraved with a special 270th anniversary emblem, marking these 2025 timepieces as future collector’s items.

Traditionnelle: Honoring Geneva’s Watchmaking Heritage in 2025
Four models from the Traditionnelle collection showcase the rigorous traditions of 18th-century Geneva watchmaking, combining technical excellence with distinctive aesthetics. The collection’s signatures include stepped lugs, a fluted caseback, a slender bezel, railway-type minutes track, faceted Dauphine-style hands and applied gold baton-type hour-markers.
The Traditionnelle Manual-Winding is offered in limited editions of 370 pieces each in 950 platinum and 18K 5N pink gold for 2025. At 38mm in diameter, these elegant timepieces are powered by the manufacture Calibre 4400 AS/270, which offers a generous 65-hour power reserve and drives hours, minutes, and small seconds at 6 o’clock. The silver-toned dials feature the distinctive 270th anniversary Maltese cross-inspired motif.

For those who appreciate feminine elegance combined with technical sophistication, the 2025 Traditionnelle Moon Phase presents a 36mm diamond-set pink gold case housing the manufacture Calibre 1410 AS/270. Limited to 270 pieces, this model features a high-precision “astronomical” moon phase that requires adjustment only once every 122 years. The mother-of-pearl dial, enhanced with the 270th anniversary motif, is complemented by a power reserve indicator and small seconds at 6 o’clock.
Completing the Traditionnelle offerings for 2025 is the Traditionnelle Manual-Winding with a 33mm diamond-set pink gold case. Limited to 270 pieces, this refined timepiece is powered by the ultra-thin manufacture Calibre 1440/270, measuring just 2.6mm in thickness. The delicate mother-of-pearl dial features the Maltese cross-inspired motif in subtle pink tones, perfectly complemented by a matching pink alligator strap.

Patrimony: Celebrating Mid-Century Minimalism in the 2025 Collection
The Patrimony collection takes inspiration from the ultra-thin, round timepieces crafted by Vacheron Constantin in the 1950s, embracing minimalism and subtlety through a round case with a slim bezel, a subtly domed dial with slender curved applied hour-markers, curved baton-type hands, and a ‘pearl’ minutes track.

The 2025 Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date is offered in both white gold and pink gold, with each version limited to 270 pieces. Housed in a 42.5mm case, these sophisticated timepieces are powered by the self-winding manufacture Calibre 2460 R31L/270 with a 40-hour power reserve. The silver-toned dial features the 270th anniversary motif and combines two of Vacheron Constantin’s signature complications: a retrograde date display via a central hand (a specialty of the Maison since the 18th century) and a precision moon phase at 6 o’clock that requires adjustment only once every 122 years.

For those who prefer classic simplicity, the 2025 Patrimony Self-Winding is available in two 370-piece limited editions in pink gold or white gold. The 40mm case houses the manufacture Calibre 2450 Q6/270, which powers hours, minutes, central seconds, and a date display at 6 o’clock. A stop-seconds mechanism ensures precise time-setting. The silver-toned dial with the 270th anniversary motif provides a perfect backdrop for the elegant time display.
The Finishing Touch for the 2025 Anniversary Collection
Each of these 2025 anniversary references is fitted with an alligator leather strap with large square scales and tone-on-tone hand stitching. The pink gold models feature pink or traditional brown straps, while the white gold and platinum versions are paired with elegant dark green or grey straps respectively. Every strap is fastened with an 18K gold pin buckle in the shape of a half Maltese Cross, reinforcing the anniversary theme.

A Remarkable Legacy for 2025
“These two collections epitomise the understated elegance of the watches created by Vacheron Constantin over the last 270 years,” explains Sandrine Donguy, Product & Innovation Director at Vacheron Constantin, regarding the 2025 anniversary collection. “The Traditionnelle collection pays tribute to traditional watchmaking’s technical and artistic heritage, with finely crafted cases and rigorously formal dials that testify to the expertise passed down from generation to generation by the Maison’s artisans and watchmakers. Patrimony is a textbook example of understatement, with models directly inspired by the minimalist aesthetic of the 1950s — a time when horology was distinguished by its discreet presence.”
When asked about the special ‘côte unique’ finish that adorns the movements of these 2025 limited editions, Donguy notes: “The ‘côte unique’ is quite symbolic, since it is created by an ancestral craft that had been lost over time and that we had to relearn. The finish is both technical and decorative, with the bridges appearing to form a continuous and harmonious line. It was rediscovered in 2021, when our Restoration Workshop undertook to recreate the original Historiques American 1921 model and its movement with this ‘côte unique’ finish. Our artisans had to remaster the craft to decorate the five movements in these anniversary editions, a process that required hundreds of hours. Perpetuating ancestral skills, preserving knowledge and passing it on are key values that define Vacheron Constantin’s ongoing history.”
