Inside is the hand-wound mechanical, P.1000 calibre, a Manufacture movement executed entirely in-house by Panerai. Its two-barrel set up ensures three days of power reserve.

For those who prefer their Panerai watches more traditionally sized, the LUMINOR BASE 8 DAYS (PAM00510) and LUMINOR 8 DAYS (PAM00560) are both great options. Coming in 44mm polished AISI 316L steel cases, both feature black dials with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers. Inside each is the hand-wound mechanical P.5000 calibre, another Manufacture movement executed entirely in-house by Panerai. As the name suggests it offers an impressive 8-day power reserve when fully wound. In fact the only real difference between these two great options is the small seconds display at 9 o’clock on the PAM00560.
